Why am I called Cooper?
Everyone wants to know where the name Cooper came from.
OK, so here's the answer: The name Cooper comes from Cooper Island in the British Virgin Islands. Mom and Dad sailed there this spring with their friends, Larry & Susan (you can check out the web site for their It's About Time sailing voyage). Mom saw the name on the navigation charts and said, "hey, Cooper seems like a great name, let's visit this island." They did, it was beautiful and the rest is history.
Dad bought this post card and some other stuff during their visit

By the way, my middle name, Ross, was chosen for no particular reason. Mom just liked it in combination with Cooper and several other "candidate" first names. I kind of like the whole thing as a package: Cooper Ross Bulens. Don't you?
Here are some more Cooper Island pictures (click on any of them to see a larger size). Want to visit Cooper Island yourself? Visit the Cooper Island Beach Club web site. I'm hoping my parents bring me there for a visit real soon ...
Larry took these sunset pictures from the anchorage at Manchioneel

Dad and Larry took these pictures of each other ... pretty silly!
